| Text: | Drove across country early one summer, about 1980 or '81. Took a detour through Medicine Bow Natl. Forest to get a change of scenery from interstates. After I went through the mountains and was on the 2-lane blacktop heading back to the freeway, I passed a little airport. Sitting on the apron was a red, white & blue P-51. I recognized "Miss America" from the Cox control-line model I had as a kid. I stopped and took some pictures. Always wondered what Miss America was doing out in the boonies in Wyoming that summer.

| Text: | I am related to Howie Keefe. He is my cousin's Grandfather. Somehow I did not realize exactly which Howie Keefe I was related to. I am currently a flight engineer in the US Navy, and I am from Truckee, CA. I love the Air Races in Reno, and I used to go every year. I am going to go this year while on leave, so I look forward to seeing you fellow Race fans out there!

| Text: | Wow! I found this website and had fun looking at the timeline you have for Miss A. My grandpa is Ron Smyth- and I've heard story after story and seen picture after picture of their time while owning and racing Miss A. I also got to chat with Howie Keefe...the history that comes with that plane is amazing. I currently fly my grandpa's 1940 Stearman n2s-2 for him; what a privelage. It seems I was born during the wrong era. Well wishes to the current owners!!!

| Text: | I had a ride in Miss America when I was a kid. Howie Keefe was at the Penticton Air Show in British Columbia in the 70's. I won a raffle for a ride, but because I was too short my Dad got to come along. I sat on his lap, he sat above the manifold in the back seat. Howie said it may get hot and mentioned that you usually sit on a parachute - we weren't wearing them - he had one on! We laugh to this day about the two huge burns that ended up on his bum. But pulling g's, looping over Okanagan Lake and "bombing" the sail boats for half an hour was worth it. Ride of a lifetime! Cheers, Bruce

| Text: | I have been a fan of the Mustang and many other WWII birds of the period. I currently have the 65" wingspan r/c plane fashioned after your airframe. You have a very nice site and very nice pictures. Good luck to you and your team in the future!!! ![]()
