Text: When Col. Crump was the pilot of the Miss America in the 80's....I had the privelege of meeting him several times. In the 90's when he was no longer the pilot...he was giving a lecture at the Arlington Fly-In. After the lecture, which lasted about an hour...the crowd had dispersed and I was walking toward him to get his autograph. I saw him reach for something behind the table and I heard him say "Shoot, I meant to auction this off before everyone left".
It was the "holy grail"
He held it up...it was his Miss America flight suit!
I told the Col. I would be happy to buy it from him. I did, and he autographed it for me under the shirt pocket flap.
I will always treasure it. I have the greatest respect for Col. Crump.

Text: I had the privilege to sit Miss America when she was at Van Nuys in 1977 (Owner Howie Keefe). To this day I consider that as my high mark in my aviation adventures. I would love to have a ride in her some day. She is truly the prettiest plane is the skies.
